March 12, 2013 - Free admission to the 21st Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design till 4/27 at the FIDM

The FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising) is offering free admission to their 21st Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design now till April 27th, 2013!  Over 100 costumes will be on display at the exhibition!  The exhibition is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

See costumes from all the nominees for Best Costume this year at the Academy Awards (Anna Karenina, Snow White and the Huntsman, Les Misérables, Lincoln and Mirror Mirror).  There are also costumes from The Avengers, The Hunger Games, Argo, Skyfall, Django Unchained, End of Watch, ParaNorman, The Master, The Artist, John Carter, Hitchcock, Sparkle, American Reunion and A Royal Affair on display!

November 30, 2012 - Rick Baker is being honored with a star on the Walk of Fame today

Make-up, special effects and costume/wardrobe designer Rick Baker is being honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 11:30 a.m. today!  Director Barry Sonnenfeld will be a guest speaker at the ceremony.

This event is taking place at 6764 Hollywood Boulevard (in front of the Guinness World Records Museum, on Hollywood and Highland) and directions can be found here. 

March 31, 2012 - ComicFest is a free event today at the FIDM Museum

The 20th Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design Exhibition continues with free admission and some added goodies for comic book fans today!  From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. today the FIDM Museum & Galleries will be hosting ComicFest with several comic book artists on hand to discuss their work with you and sign your comic books.  You'll also be able to see the costumes used in the movies Captain America & Thor, create your own comic, there will be giveaways, a live DJ and more!

February 17, 2012 - Free admission to the 20th Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design Exhibition

The 20th Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design Exhibition has FREE admission from now till April 28th at the FIDM!  See costumes from all the nominated films this year (Anonymous, The Artist, Hugo, Jane Eyre and W.E.) as well as costumes from Alice in Wonderland (including Johnny Depp's wardrobe as The Mad Hatter), My Week with Marilyn, Thor, Captain America, The Help, Immortals and plenty of others!  Check them out here to see pictures and get a feel for the exhibit and watch the YouTube video below to give you a feel for what to expect.  The exhibition is Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
