March 12, 2013 - Free admission to the 21st Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design till 4/27 at the FIDM

The FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising) is offering free admission to their 21st Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design now till April 27th, 2013!  Over 100 costumes will be on display at the exhibition!  The exhibition is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

See costumes from all the nominees for Best Costume this year at the Academy Awards (Anna Karenina, Snow White and the Huntsman, Les Misérables, Lincoln and Mirror Mirror).  There are also costumes from The Avengers, The Hunger Games, Argo, Skyfall, Django Unchained, End of Watch, ParaNorman, The Master, The Artist, John Carter, Hitchcock, Sparkle, American Reunion and A Royal Affair on display!

Nevember 30, 2012 - Paseo Colorado's Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration takes place tonight in Pasadena

The annual Paseo Colorado Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration is taking place from 6-8 p.m. tonight in Pasadena!  This free event will feature musical performances by Charlotte Sometime
(who was on the second season of The Voice), Christmas carolers and Chelsea Johnson!  The night will also feature the beautiful 24' Christmas tree being lit, dance performances by  Lineage Dance and a special appearance by Santa Claus!  Free popcorn and hot apple cider will be served.

December 5, 2011 - Make reservations for the FREE 18th Annual Queen Mary Christmas Tree Lighting

Make reservations to attend the free 18th Annual Queen Mary Tree Lighting on Wednesday, December 7th!  The festivities kick off at 4:00 p.m. with live music featuring roaming Victorian carolers, two choirs and free refreshments.  Santa Claus will light the Christmas tree at approximately 7:00 p.m. and Santa will be happy to meet your children and take photos with them.  This is a free event, but an unwrapped toy would be appreciated for Toys for Tots, Sparks of Love and the Long Beach Toy Patrol, but it's not mandatory.

November 27, 2011 - The Hollywood Christmas Parade is tonight

Tonight is the 80th annual Hollywood Christmas Parade with Marie Osmond as Grand Marshal this year and featuring lots of celebrities, marching bands and Santa Claus!  The parade starts at 6:00 p.m. and the parade will start at Hollywood Boulevard at Orange (in front of the Chinese Treatre), travel east to Vine Street, south on Vine to Sunset Boulevard and then west on Sunset and ends on Orange & Sunset.  The grandstand seats (in front of the Chinese Theatre) are sold out, however, you can bring your own chair, dress warm and watch the parade free along the parade route.  The parade will also be airing on the Hallmark Channel on December 12th, with several replay showings planned.  All the details and participants can be found at the official Hollywood Christmas Parade website here.
