December 16, 2012 - Cimorelli and The Trojan Men have a free outdoor concert at CityWalk tonight

Pop/rock band Cimorelli and USC's only all-male a cappella group The Trojan Men hit the stage at Universal Studios CityWalk Hollywood to perform a free concert for fans tonight!  The concert is taking place from 6-9 p.m. at CityWalk's 5 Towers Concert Venue.  In addition to being free, this concert is also outdoors, so dress warm.

The alternative rock group Matchbox Twenty are stopping by The Grove to discuss their new CD North with Extra!  The interview will be taking place at 2:00 p.m. next to the Pacific Theatres at The Grove.

Disclaimer:  I enjoy posting these celebrity appearances at The Grove, however, lately I've seriously considered not posting them any longer.  Extra often tweets or posts these appearances on their website, people show up (sometimes driving hours), only to find out the celebrity was rescheduled or they decided to make it a private interview at the last minute.  This often results in a headache for the fans and I.

Most of the time Extra doesn't update their website to mention the appearances being changed.  The rare times Extra has mentioned a schedule change, I haven't been online to make mention of it.  So many times I get online to find messages from disappointed fans showing up at these apperances.

For now, I'll continue posting these appearances.  I'd strongly caution anyone planning on attending and ask that they double check by calling (323) 900-8080 before wasting their time driving over for nothing.

June 6, 2012 - Free Def Leppard concert followed by a Q&A with the band today

Legendary rock and roll band Def Leppard (Rick Savage, Joe Elliott, Rick Allen, Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell) have a free concert followed by a question and answer session with the band today!  The concert starts at 2:30 p.m. and is first come, first served event, so it's important to arrive early.

If you're not able to attend this event, it will be posted here tomorrow (June 7th) at 12:00 p.m.  I'll also update this blog entry and place the concert/Q&A here once it's posted on YouTube.  Big THANKS to Shady Shenanigans for giving me a heads up about this great event!

South African pop group Overtone have a free outdoor concert at Universal Studios CityWalk Hollywood tonight from 8-10 PM!  Overtone (Eduard Janse Van Rensburg, Emile Welman, Riaan Weyers, Ernest "Ernie" Bates, Valentino Ponsonby & Shane Smit) are being represented by Dina Eastwood and I believe this concert is being filmed for her new E! reality show Mrs. Eastwood & Company.  The concert is taking place at CityWalk's 5 Towers Concert Venue.

March 6, 2012 - Oreo celebration at The Grove today with a free mystery musical performance

 The Oreo cookie celebrating their 100th birthday today with a free outdoor concert!  The only hint given to who's performing is it's a 7 time Grammy Award winning group.  The only groups to win a Grammy 7 times are The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Coldplay and Lady Antebellum (who are my guess...but it's only a guess).  This big event is happening at The Grove in The Park area at 11:00 AM.

February 6, 2012 - Classic rock band America are being honored with a star on the Walk of Fame today

The classic rock band America (with members Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell attending) are being honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this morning!  John Stamos and Billy Bob Thornton will be guest speakers at the ceremony.  America have so many incredible songs, this ceremony is long overdue.  This event starts at 11:30 at 6752 Hollywood Boulevard and directions can be found here.
