February 9, 2013 - Free screening of Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker in Santa Monica today

Free screening of the 2010 documentary Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone followed by a question and answer session with director/writer/producer Lev Anderson today!  The screening starts at 2:00 p.m. in the MLK Jr. Auditorium at the Santa Monica Public Library.  Seating is limited, so arrive early.

October 11, 2012 - Patti Smith has a free performance and signs copies of her new CD tonight

Punk rock singer Patti Smith is stopping by Amoeba Music for a free acoustic performance and CD signing at 6:00 PM!  Following the musical performance, Patti will be signing copies of her new CD BANGA fans purchase at Amoeba MusicIf you can't make it down, Amoeba Music will be streaming the musical performance live on their website here.

August 30, 2012 - Circle Jerks - My Career As A Jerk followed by a Q&A with the director and members of the band

Circle Jerks - My Career As A Jerk is a documentary that looks at the Los Angeles punk band the Circle Jerks and it's screening tonight at 7:30 PM!  The screening will be followed by a question and answer session with director Dave Markey and he'll be joined by Circle Jerks band members Greg Hetson and Lucky Lehrer

This event is taking place at The Cinefamily at the Silent Movie Theatre and doors open at 7:00 PM.  Tickets are $13.89 after service fees and can be purchased here.

August 9, 2011 - Screening of Documentary 'We Were Feared' Followed by Henry Rollins Question and Answer Session

Tonight after the screening of the new punk rock documentary 'We Were Feared' there will be a question and answer session with star/punk rock icon Henry Rollins!  The movie screening/Q&A is taking place at the AcrLight Hollywood at 7:30 p.m.

November 4, 2011 - Documentary 'The Other F Word' Screening & Special Appearance by the Stars and Producers


 Saturday and Sunday there will be a screenings of the new documentary on fathers who are punk rock icons titled 'The Other F Word' followed by a special appearance by several stars and producers.  After the movie, meet director Andrea Blaugrund, producer Cristan Reilly and stars Jim Lindbert (from the groups Pennywise and The Black Pacific), Art Alexakis (from Everclear) and Mark Motherbaugh (from Devo, who's only able to appear on Saturday) who are scheduled to to appear in person after the screening of the movie. 

This special screening will be taking place at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Nuart Theatre.  The Nuart Theatre is located at 11272 Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles.  Tickets for Saturday can be purchased here and tickets for Sunday can be purchased here.  Directions to the Nuart Theatre can be found here.

Some Events Tonight

  The Egyptian Theatre is celebrating the legendary career of actress Julie Adams, who will be there in person tonight!  Julie will be signing copies of her new autobiography 'The Lucky Southern Star: Reflections From The Black Lagoon' starting at 6:30 PM in the lobby.  At 7:30 there will be a screening of the classic movie Creature From The Black Lagoon in 3-D, Julie Adams will then do a Q&A, then there will be a screening of the movie Bend of the River that Julie starred in with James Stewart.  Directions to The Egyptian Theatre can be found here.
