The Los Angeles, Italia continues today at the Chinese 6 Theatres at the Hollywood & Highland Center!  The events are all free and open to the public!  First come, first served seating.  Arrive early.

Some of these events were originally listed with e-mail addresses to RSVP earlier and were removed shortly after.  I would recommend calling or e-mailing to confirm they're still open to attend without RSVPing though.

Today the schedule includes the following:

  • The drama Il caso Mattei (1972, also known as The Mattei Affair) screens at 11:00 a.m.
  • Documentary Franco Nero: The Man of a Thousand Faces and western  Django (1966) screen starting at 10:00 p.m.

Lots of interesting events taking place at Los Angeles, Italia all week long.  For a complete listing of events, click here.  Might be a good idea to RSVP early for many of the events coming up.

Chinese 6 Theatres is located at 6801 Hollywood Boulevard and directions can be found here.  You can park at Hollywood & Highland Center for 2 hours for $2.00 after validation.  For further information, please call Chinese 6 Theatres at (323) 465-4847 or e-mail Los Angeles, Italia at pr@LosAngelesItalia.com

November 7, 2012 - The Britannia Awards are being held in Beverly Hills tonight

Steven Spielberg
The Britannia Awards are taking place tonight in Beverly Hills at the Beverly Hilton with a large list of celebrities scheduled to attend!  Daniel Day-Lewis, Daniel Craig, Quentin Tarantino, Trey Parker and Matt Stone are all scheduled to attend and be honored tonight.  Harrison Ford, Steven Spielberg and Josh Gad are just a few of the names listed as presenting awards tonight.

This event starts at 6:30 PM, so you'll want to arrive early for celebrity spotting.  This event is taking place inside the hotel, so I'm not sure what the layout will be.  You may be able to sit in the lobby, as long as you're dressed nicely and behave yourself.  The Hollywood Film Awards were held here a few weeks ago and there was a barricade set up where some celebrities would come over and sign, pose for pictures, etc.

The Beverly Hilton is located at 9876 Wilshire Boulevard and directions can be found here.

October 22, 2012 - The 16th Annual Hollywood Film Awards are taking place in Beverly Hills tonight

Bradley Cooper
The 16th Annual Hollywood Film Awards is taking place tonight with lots of celebrities attending and being honored!  Dustin Hoffman, Robert De Niro, Ben Affleck, Bradley Cooper, Richard Gere, Marion Cotillard, Amy Adams, Quentin Tarantino, Judd Apatow, Alan Arkin, Bryan Cranston, John Goodman, John Hawkes, Samantha Barks, Quvenzhané Wallis and many others are all scheduled to attend.

This is a private event taking place inside The Beverly Hilton.  The ceremony starts at 6:30 p.m.  This event is taking place inside the hotel.  You're welcome to sit in the lobby and you shouldn't have any issues as long as you're dressed nicely, act like you belong and behave yourself.  Fans who run up to celebrities screaming for autographs and/or pictures or asking staff where the celebrities are will probably be shown the door and well behaved fans may be asked to leave as a result.

Pay attention to the celebrities you might want to approach for an autograph and/or picture.  Do they look approachable?  If so, ask if you can have an autograph and/or picture.  Once again, being rude will make it easy for the celebrity to refuse and probably get the fan kicked out.  So if you're planning on attending, behave yourself and remind others not to spoil it for others!

The Beverly Hilton is located at 9876 Wilshire Boulevard and directions can be found here.

October 21, 2012 - The First Annual New Voices Short Film Festival kicks off tonight with lots of celebrities scheduled to attend

The first annual New Voices Short Film Festival is taking place at The Cinefamily at the Silent Movie Theatre tonight at 6:00 p.m. with lots of celebrities rumored to attend!  Celebrities listed as possibly attending include Brad Pitt, Monica Bellucci, Sam Rockwell, Quentin Tarantino, Steve Buscemi, Casey Affleck, Rita Wilson, John Turturro, filmmakers flown in from Italy and others.  George Clooney and Stacy Keibler are both in town and were also listed as attending at one point.

The New Voices Short Film Festival will showcase 7 Italian short films (Death of a Star, Via Curiel 8, Se Davvero Prederò Il Volo, Mr. Doyle, Suicidio Di Un Paraplegico, Salvatore & Fireworks).  Tickets are $26.87 (after service fees) and can be purchased here.  Following the festival, there will be a reception with free pizza and wine served.

The Cinefamily at the Silent Movie Theatre doesn't have a parking area, so if you're not attending, it might be easier to snap a picture or ask for an autograph while the celebrities are arriving or leaving.  Then again, if some "fans" are charging up to celebrities demanding autographs and/or pictures...they might just ask their driver to turn around and go home.  Behave yourselves.

The Cinefamily at the Silent Movie Theatre is located at 611 North Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles and directions can be found here.
