The 1927 silent movie Wings screens on October 1st at the historic Grauman's Chinese Theatre for only 25¢!  Wings won the the Best Picture (along with many other awards that night) at the first Academy Awards ceremony that was held across the street from Grauman's Chinese Theatre at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel!  This special screening is taking place on October 1st at 7:00 p.m.  Tickets can be purchased at the box office or online here.  There's a $1.00 service charge per ticket when purchasing them online.

My Uncle Rafael premieres at the Chinese 6 Theatres at the Hollywood & Highland Center!  The cast (Carly Chaikin, John Michael Higgins, Anthony Clark, Missi Pyle, Rachel Blanchard, Vahik Pirhamzei and Ursula Taherian) and filmmakers are all scheduled to start arriving at 6:30 p.m.  This is being held at the smaller multiplex upstairs, so I'm not sure if there will be a red carpet.

Disclaimer:  I enjoy posting these celebrity appearances at The Grove, however, lately I've seriously considered not posting them any longer.  Extra often tweets or posts these appearances on their website, people show up (sometimes driving hours), only to find out the celebrity was rescheduled or they decided to make it a private interview at the last minute.  This often results in a headache for the fans and I.

Most of the time Extra doesn't update their website to mention the appearances being changed on Twitter.  The rare times Extra has mentioned a schedule change, I haven't been online to make mention of it.  So many times I get online to find messages from disappointed fans showing up at these appearances.

September 18, 2012 - Aimee Mann has a musical performance and will be signing copies of her new CD at The Grove tonight

Rock/folk singer Aimee Mann is stopping by Barnes & Noble at The Grove for a live musical performance and then she'll will be signing copies of her new CD Charmer!  This event starts at 7:00 p.m.  CDs go on sale when the store opens at 9:00 a.m.  You'll need a wristband to get your CD signed, so call and make sure there are still wristbands available before heading down to purchase your CD.

September 17-19, 2012 - The Trouble with the Truth screens followed by a Q&A with the stars & filmmakers in Hollywood

The Trouble with the Truth screens on September 17th & 18th at the Egyptian Theatre followed by a question and answer session with stars Lea Thompson, John Shea and writer/director Jim Hemphill at the 7:00 p.m. screening each night!  On September 19th, John Shea and Jim Hemphill will be joined by editor Michael Benni Pierce for a Q&A following the 7:00 p.m. screening.

The historic Egyptian Theatre is located at 6712  Hollywood Boulevard and directions can be found here.  Tickets can be purchased at the box office or online at Fandango here.  General admission is $11.00.
