November 5, 2011 - Horrorthon 6.5 at the Aero Theatre Tonight


The Aero Theatre presents Horrorthon 6.5 starting at 11:00 p.m. with 4 horror classics and free snacks provided throughout the night.  The 4 horror movies will be the original 1968 version of George Romero's Night of the Living Dead, the director's cut (8 extra minutes) of Just Before Dawn, Alice Sweet Alice and The Pit.

If you bought tickets to the Aero Theatre's Dusk-To-Dawn Horrorthon on October 29th, bring your ticket stub to this event and admission is free.  If you didn't attend the Dusk-To-Dawn Horrorthon but would like to attend Horrorthon 6.5, an all-night pass is $10.00.  The Aero Theatre is located at 1328 Montana Avenue in Santa Monica.  Tickets can be purchased here and directions can be found here.

Spooktacular Free Halloween Events Tonight


West Hollywood will be celebrating Halloween with their wild annual West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval.  Every year this is a huge event that draws thousands of people from around the world.  This free event takes place on Santa Monica Boulevard between La Cienega and Doheny Drive from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM.  Directions to West Hollywood's Halloween Costume Carnaval can be found here.

The House of Restless Spirits is also a free event that promises to scare you tonight!  They will be open from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.  House of Restless Spirits is located at 1008 Euclid Street in Santa Monica with directions here.

Writer/director John Carpenter's 1978 horror classic Halloween was set in Haddonfield, Illinois, but it was actually filmed in Southern California.
This is Michael Myers' home that was originally located at 707 Meredian Avenue, but has since been moved to 1000 Mission Street in South Pasadena.  Directions to the home can be found here.

  This is the home where Jamie Lee Curtis' character Laurie Strode was babysitting, it's located at 1530 North Orange Grove Avenue in Hollywood.  Directions to this home can be found here.

 This is the home (on the left hand side) Laurie Strode's best friend Annie was babysitting (and murdered) in the movie.  The address is 1537 North Orange Grove Avenue in Hollywood.  Directions to the home are here.

The 6th Annual Dusk-To-Dawn Horrorthon at the Aero Theatre tonight


Tonight the Aero Theatre is hosting their 6th annual Dusk-To-Dawn Horrorthon starting at 7:30 PM and screening 6 horror flicks.  Admission is $20.00 (less for students, seniors and members) and includes FREE all-night snacks, Pete's Coffee, Monster Energy Drinks, prizes and giveaways to get your through the night!  The movies screened will be Stephen King's Pet Sematary, Tourist Trap, The Pit, David Cronenberg's Videodrome, Alice Sweet Alice and the director's cut of Just Before Dawn that includes 8 extra minutes.  Tickets can be purchased at the box office or on Fandango here.  Directions to the Aero Theatre can be found here.

Phantasm I and II screening along with a Q&A with the stars and writer/director


An update on the Halloween double feature tonight of horror classics Phantasm and Phantasm II along with a Q&A with writer/director Don Coscarelli and stars Angus "The Tall Man" Scrimm and last minute additions David "Toby" Arntzen and Ken "The Caretaker" Jones!  Tickets are only $10.00 (free if you're a member) and will be taking place at the Silent Movie Theatre starting at 7:45 PM.  Directions to the Silent Movie Theatre can be found here.
